MED Business Solutions eConference Suites
These specially designed Suites will consist of three ninety-minute eConferences held on three consecutive weeks. They are not part of regular R3 or other network membership package.
The Suites will be recorded and available for playback on CD along with printed handouts. The Suites are package priced at $300 per Series for Member ($495 for Non-members), the price includes access to the eConference, the CD and handout materials.

Session Two - Communication and Conflict Resolution and Team Building

You already know that communication is a key of successful companies and successful teams. Interestingly enough, so is the presence of conflict – what’s important is how to deal with it. This session reminds you of several skills in communication, including dealing with conflict. We will discuss building trust as a foundation, with a final focus on the necessity of effective communication in building teams. Elements include:
Session Three - Leadership During Change

We are in a changing and challenging industry. It is during change when leadership (a step beyond management) really comes into play. This session will discuss several elements in preparing for and dealing with change, including dealing with the inherent stress. The focus will be practical, down-to-earth elements you can apply immediately in helping your staff and your company deal with change.

2. Lean Flow Management Series - Presented by Chris Calderone, Lean Homecare Consulting Group, LLC
Session One - Introduction to Lean Thinking for HME Providers
Wednesday September 10 at 9:00 EDT
Lean thinking is a quality-focused performance improvement approach perfected by Toyota in order to improve efficiency in their production processes and has since spread to many healthcare businesses with great success.
Lean thinking focuses on reducing bottlenecks, handoffs, wait time, and rework within core business processes such as intake, billing/reimbursement, distribution, and purchasing, it is also focused on creating a visual, highly organized workspace.
Participants will be provided with examples of lean success stories in healthcare organizations and in HME businesses.
Attendees will be introduced to lean concepts and tools including error proofing, work standardization, root cause analysis, 5S (creating the visual workplace) the value stream concept, and general workflow optimization tactics- all designed to create a lean process flow.
Session Two - Understanding and Improving a Process Using Value Stream Mapping
Wednesday September 17 at 9:00 EDT
Before you can improve a process, you must be able to understand the process. Value stream mapping provides an effective way of “visualizing” a process so people can more fully understand how the current process performs. Value stream mapping can help people “see” a process from a new perspective.
Session Three - 5S – Creating the Visual Work Place
Wednesday September 24 at 9:00 EDT
The 5S approach involves implementing a highly organized, visual workspace that is focused on standardization, visualization, cleanliness, organization, and workspace efficiency. Participants will be introduced to 5S concepts as well as be provided with real-world 5S applications in healthcare and in HME operations.
