CMS MSA List Released: (BREAKING NEWS)
Normally MED will wait for primary verification before communication anything to Members, especially information like the cities named for
competitive bidding. However, there is so much "noise" we want to communicate to you regarding information that we have heard from reliable
sources A list of ten MSAs were posted on the Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor Website this morning. Since then, the site
has been inaccessible and no official announcement from CMS or the CBIC has been made. Here is the list we received:
Charlotte-Gastonia-Concord: NC-SC
Cincinnati-Middletown, OH-KY-IN
Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor, OH
Dallas-FT Worth-Arlington, TX
Kansas City, KS-MO
Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Miami Beach, FL
Riverside, San Bernadino, Ontario, CA
Orlando, Kissimmee, FL
Pittsburgh, PA
San Juan, Caguas, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico
When that announcement is made and the list of chosen MSAs is made official, MED will advise its
membership immediately. We do not know whether CMS intended for this information to be disclosed or
when an actual final announcement of geographies, regulations and products will be made today or
sometime in the (very) near future.
